Advice on Jeep JK Mountain Edition 2010

Post by Stalliondz »

Dear all,

I have a friend who's interested to buy a Jeep JK Mountain Edition 2010 Model, so while he was discussing this mater with me, i told him that i will ask people who have experience in Jeeps.

Car Details:
-JK Mountain Edition 2010
- Engine: V6 3.8 (delivering about 205 HP)

Questions:
- How does it perform compared with the 2012+ Models that have the V6 3.6 Engine with 285 HP?
- Any Issues that we should be worried about in this 2010 model?
- Reliability of the Car?
- Spare Parts Availability and Prices.
- Price of the car is about 30,000 Dhs , is it a good deal?
- Any Other comments or advises.

I appreciate in advance all the comments and advises from all the members.

Cheers
Chafik

Only thing to add to Galdi's points:

The only thing about the 2010s is that their ECU is slightly different. But that isn't much of an issue anymore as aftermarket has caught up.

The price is V. good even for an American Soft top base model. He should Just make sure that it is in a good condition.

Dear ossme,

The ECU is slightly different in wish way and what does it affect?
Also do you have any recommendations for an alternative aftermarket ECU and what would it improve .

Thx for all the members for the reply, really appreciate it.

The ECU was improved for 2010 and 2011 model years before changing again in 2012. It doesn't affect anything. In fact, it is better than the older models in my opinion. But older programs or chips won't work so one needs to make sure of the compatability of aftermarket parts beforehand.
