Dyno run without snorkel = +30hp but also no air filter - how much power loss due to snorkel and how much to filter? That engine will suck in small children as tested never mind sand particles. Although this thread started with power output the deviation to engine protection from sand ingress is probably more relevant to some members.

I suppose some objective evidence would be :

1.How many members with unmodified intake systems and OEM filters changed at recommended service intervals have lost an engine due to sand ingress
2. How many members with modified intake systems (and give details of mods) have lost an engine due to sand ingress
