Don't think so, no pop since fitted, from where the sand will come

I had this with the Toyo tires. Always around 100km, sometimes reduced by setting the tires pressure to a certain pressure but never really went away. Mine at the moment is fine with the Kumho, but I have also changed suspension at the same time... There is a recall in the US for the steering shaking

It is a Toyota thing. Does not happen to my JEEP although I have the AT3 :-)

So, a fast update - either my ears have gotten used to them, or the tires have broken in after a few trips to Abu Dhabi and back from Dubai, but they are seeming to be quieter now.

As for shaking, I don't have that problem at at...and I drive 130-140 kph on my commute.

REALLY happy with them so far...the only issue I have had is I think I ran them too low pressure first time out, and they just wanted to dig in, and apparently I was leaving HUGE tracks. I will add a few PSI next time out (from the 10 that I ran last time to 12 or so) and see if that helps at all.
In the sand, there is truth.

Rob I am always at 10 psi (except in Liwa I went lower) and was doing fine. I do get stuck every now and then but not sure if I have to blame the tyers or the driver. It is maybe because the FJ could be heavier than the Wrangler. Ultimately you will find the psi which suits your drive. Good luck.

they are quite enough
the shaking is only around 100 km/h beyond that and before that all good, i drive up to 170 with no issues.
off road i go up to 9-10 PSI with no issues, no digging

Hello,
So I have Michelin 265/70/R17, would like to change my tyres as it is time.. + if it can give a nice look to my FJ and help me in the sand, why not.
I have been advised on Cooper AT3 LT 275/70/R17, only issue being that in Abu Dhabi workshop i could not find any such size.
Hence is it a big difference to go to the 285/70/R17. Which brand is the best in this model Cooper AT3 STT Discoverer? or any other brand? Cooper or Yokoama ?
To go from 265 to 285, it will give me wider and taller tyre? how much wide? How much height approx ?
Thanks for your guidance
Paul

265/70/17 size is

265 *.7 = 185mm = aspect ratio
185 / 25.4 = 7.3 inch
7.3 * 2 = 14.6 inch
14.6 + 17 rim = 31.6 inch wheel

285/70/17 is
285 * .7 = 199.5
199.5 / 25.4 * 2 = 15.7
15.7 + 17 = 34 inch

Unless I have made a mistake.

You cannot get Yokohama in that size. You will struggle to get coopers in Abu Dhabi. You will be able to get Kumho which are OK.

I run on Kumho.

For that size tire you will need to check and possible change the shape of your front wheel arch so it does not catch when it is turned.

Well, I was trying for long time to get the cooper AT3 same size with no hope AD and Dubai, bigger tire without lifting means rapping which is big no also the STT is disaster in terms of digging and NOISE
I finally was able to find Yokohama geolander 265/70/17 with Qaruty help,
Give him a call

Thanks for all your answers.
If i may summarize,
AT3 Cooper 285/70R17 - Available in Abu Dhabi but not recommended if the car is not lifted
Yokoama Geolander 265/70R17 - Available in Abu Dhabi and recommended by everybody but then i will not change tiny bit the look of my FJ...
Kumho 275/70R17 - Available in Abu Dhabi but heard different comments about them (good and bad)
AT3 Cooper 275/70R17 - The tyres that people wants but not available in Abu Dhabi...

Hummm any other tyres available in 275/70R17 ?? If 275 size is mounted does your car need to be lifted, or standard is fine?
Thanks again for all your tips !!!
See you soon in the sand dunes !!!

AT3 Cooper 275/70R17 - The tyres that people wants but not available in Abu Dhabi... (my personal feedback; good performance but had to change them after 25 k, lost two tires; one cracks all around and another side puncher)
