PROCAL Issues with Dealers

Has anyone had any issues with Dealer Service/Warranty after using a PROCAL to calibrate tyre size?
Do you recommend resetting to original before service?
Any thoughts welcome.

Cheers

Better reset when you go for service as the dealer may update the software and that would render your procal useless ;)

Thanks Georges - I've found my Quick reference Guide but doesn't give the reset settings. Web search suggest its first 3 down and others all up. I have the full booklet at home so will check that but not sure it gives the settings, only tells you to do it in order to transfer to another vehicle. It also seems to be pretty insistent that nothing can be affected by the dealers! However what Aidy says makes sense so I'll do it anyway. :?

if this is like a super chip etc, the dealer will know unless you reset the ECU back to factory setting. they connect a diagnostic stick to the car via wireless onto a laptop and run tests on it and it will flag it up straight away. if this is the case, they technically could void your warranty for electrical parts on the car. if the car is outside warranty then it doesnt matter i guess, however this could still lead to problems re the engine management programme updates etc they may need to install.

Dear Martin,

May I introduce our good friend Marshal Mamoun, a.k.a. your friendly service advisor at Western Motors.....

That being said, I don't think that ProCal presents the same issue you get with products like bullydog or superchips which change performance characteristics. ProCal is actually pretty limited in what it does, and adjusting for tire size shouldn't be a problem. If in doubt, give Mamoun a call. Perhaps the dealer can even recalibrate it for you.

thanks Code Red!

I'll give him a ping when I get back to Dubai as currently in Europe.

No need to reset. just inform your service adviser that you have the ProCal setup on your vehicle and they will account to that.

Thanks all. I did reset before service (before your post anTrax) but when logging in asked if I could have left it on and confirmed not a problem. I got them to calibrate for the tyres during the service and think they did a better job than the Procal when I checked with GPS. 100kph now matches GPS but was 1 out on Procal. May just be the service but she feels more "peppy" now as well. Will find out tomorrow
