So unfortunately I have had a fairly bad accident in my TJ. Had a blow out and the subsequently took out two of those metal poles that protect a fire hydrant and managed to flip the jeep on its roof. :/
Im fine so not much sympathy needed. all the safety gear did there job.
If economical I would like to get it repaired. So how tough are these things?? If ive bent the chassis she probs dead right?
Any recommendations on who to use to recover it and take a sneak peak?
Also if it is uneconomical to repair where is my best bet for recover as much money from it scrap wise as i can?
Cheers all

Sorry to hear the news. is it dubai or abu dhabi.
the car is most likely 3rd party so the insurance will not pay out. best speak with someone like marshal abu aded from Seapal garage who can help.
Chances are a roll over on tarmac will have twisted the geometry and chassis.

Abu Dhabi bro. You are correct about the insurance.
Hopefully it can be resurrected as hate seeing a good motor go to the scrap heap in the sky.

Hope the Jeep can still be repaired but if not, just scavenge all the aftermarket parts you added to it and strip away anything else that's salvageable. You could either buy another TJ and reuse your parts, or sell them on to other offroaders.

Re: How tough is a TJ??
I was in Rage Performance's Dubai garage the other week (getting a new skid plate), and they had a Jeep that they were rebuilding that had forward-flipped down a dune after a jump...caved in and partially ripped off it's roof, destroyed the front hood (bonnet), etc. Both A pillars totally ripped off. Unless you bent the frame, I would say you probably did NOT do more damage than this (very nice and very well kitted-out) Jeep had...
I didn't think Rage was all that expensive, and they do discounts for AD4x4 members.

my 1 cent
don't throw lots of money on repairing it, at the end at the time of selling
the buyer will know about the history and the price will be hugely decreased
so its a total loss of money and efforts.
if chassis is intact, repair it to the minimum requirement to pass inspection
and keep it for desert driving until you forget about the repairing amount you spent
then if you need to sell, you can sell at the best possible price
glad you're safe

chassis is replaceable, other things can be purchased from Sharjah scrapyards, best do the calculation which is more economy for you

Re: How tough is a TJ??
I was thinking of budgeting 10k AED for the repairs. Anymore than that and it will be uneconomical.
Probably unrealistic amount but thats what I had in my head. No problems with second hand parts here, most of my cars historically have been patched up with rusty gems from scrap yards
