Hello Phil,
I recommend you just get stuck on a straight crest with two wheels off the ground, flip it on and see if you get out.

Re: K+S VACUM LOCKERS
Hi Phillip,
As Brian suggest, you will clearly feel the difference if you get stuck in the dunes.
Shift to low and engage the two diff locks by pressing in the bottom of the switches. You will have a blinking icon in your dashboard while the diff lock is engaging.
Cheers

All good advice.
Also.....
A simple check is to engage the lockers while on a gravel surface. Do a tight turn at slow speed. If the differential lock is engaged one or both wheels will "spin" or lose traction as they rotate at the same speed. Don't do this on tarmac.
You can double check by doing the same with lock disengaged. The difference will be noticeable.

KS vacuum lockers are a piece of German engineering, small company close to Stuttgart producing lockers for any car, specialized in jeeps.
The Vacuum locker works on the engine vacuum ( Fuel injection ) no compressor needed. Les moving parts then other lockers and rally proofed.
