Post by Mac »

I,m trying to source either a K&N or Airaid filter for my H3. I can find them online in US no problem but just wondered if there is anywhere here that stocks them, does anyone know?

I agree it make big difference the K&N filter is more than the cat-back, but both with Throtel body spacer and headers you will get the best result.

Since you are getting more air to the engine also you need to get the air faster out of the engine to gain more horse power, but buy installing piece by peice you will feel the diference.

Good luck, i got my K&N filter from Rami trading, he did rip me off but i had no choice.

Mac if you want i am going tomorrow to mussfah between 2-3 oclock if you want i can go with you and go to rami trading.

Thanks XJ for this. I have a quote from a UK company including shipping for the air intake & Throttle body spacer & cleaning kit for approx 2000dhs. US delivery is very high to UAE. Is this a reasonable price compared to Rami?

MAC .... check with the dealer if the Cold Air Intake system is OK with them.

If not  you can install it and when you go for service , just reinstall the OEM one   inorder not to loose the warenty

Yes Mac, wild fire is right .. I remember that Mozi done all his upgrades including the Cat back from the agency ... Take care these things will void the warrenty ..

Don't install the throttle body spacer .. as per Simon it's usless in the Hummer and I tried it in the Durango, it's causing me problems and I will remove it

Thanks guys, but don,t worry, the Cat back system is to be supplied/fitted by Liberty Autos and they will also fit filter " Supplied by Customer" Good advice re the Throttle Body Spacer though, that will save me some money. No point fitting it if it useless. I know as soon as I fitted the filter and exhaust sysytem on the Wrangler there was a huge difference. That was a brand new engine as well and seemed to be very "Tight"

Mac, I am not sure what these small added pieces do. No one does....I think.... There are many theories. My H3 does climb....with a TBS and exhaust from Liberty. Put the TBS; it is USD 100 or so I think....

All the best

Forgot to add in my response to your PM Mac, I have a spare TBS from Liberty floating around somewhere complete with bolts and gaskets. I'll dig it out when I get back.
As I said it will be a good opportunity to do a side by side "stock V modified" test to answer the question of whether it is worth doing these mods at all.

Mozi, Baz are you interested? I am back on the 3rd Oct if you fancy it.
