Here is the scenario. End of Decmber 2006 buy brand new Jeep Wrangler from Western motors. It is the anniversary edition and comes with a Garmin Quest GPS. This is dash mounted but can also be taken out and used for hiking etc. When dash mounted it is powered from mains. When in portable mode you switch it on & off at leisure and can charge it up.
Last Wednesday GPS packed in. Unable to switch on at all. Took it back to Western Motors, told will have to be sent to Chrysler. Sunday, phone call from garage. it appears after being charged on portable charger it is working, but will have to test it in car mount.
Arrive at garage tonight, GPS not working, unable to be switched on at all, but they still wanted to take my car away, Why? says I when it won,t even switch on in portable mode. Ok say garage, we send it away. I point out it is under warranty and do they have another one in stock? Yes is the answer. Why can I not have that one then, instead of waiting weeks or months for it tocome back from Chrysler. Might not be covered under warranty say garage!!! Does anyone know what consumer rights if any we have here?
Thanks Mac
