I am unable to connect to the Gallery from the internet when trying to upload pics from "My Pictures" on my PC, is it just my machine or is there a problem until the new site is fully developed?

hello guys,

yes its working great, thank you for your support.

i have a question though, the settings you have changed effected only the 'directory /public_html/newweb//gallery2' this means when i delete that folder to attempt another installation or if i would like to install the gallery to another location then i will get the same error case as before. my question is, would it be possible to change the global setting of my account so that all directories will have a safe mode set to off and max file upload to 5MB. the reason why i'm asking for this is because i'm working on a new website and i'm going to change its location once completed. another thing that i have noticed is that when i go to my Cpanel php configuration under 'Software / Services' i still see safe mode: ON AND upload_max_filesize 2MB

Hani A Janem

Hello Hani,

Thanks for your support request

CPanel uses separate php.ini so you don't need to bother about that.

safe_mode is set to off
upload_max_filesize is set to 5M

The above settings are configured for your entire domain.

Please do get back to us for any further assistance

hello,

i'm just a little confused now :) if my information is correct the error that i get when trying to install gallery2 to any location in my account is directly caused by safe mode set to 'ON' You guys have fixed the problem when i was trying to install it to http://www.ad4x4.com/newweb/gallery2/

Warning: putenv() [function.putenv]: Safe Mode warning: Cannot set environment variable 'LANG' - it's not in the allowed list in ...............Warning: putenv() [function.putenv]: Safe Mode warning: Cannot set environment variable 'LANGUAGE' - it's not in the allowed list in ................

therefore if my global safe mode is set to 'Off' in my domain, i should not get the error again when trying to install it to another directory . for example i tried installing the gallery to www.ad4x4.com/newweb//phpBB3/gallery2/install and i still have the error showing up.

is there another problem that i should be aware about that is causing this problem?

Regards

Hani Janem

Hi Hani,

In your server, safe mode is enabled and server wide upload limit is 2M. We put a php.ini file under your "public_html" directory with
upload_max_filesize = 5M
safe_mode = off

So if you want to change the settings to it in any other location, you just copy this php.ini file to that location.

Feel free to get back to us if you need further assistance.
