Sharing the completion of the FJ Cruiser Storage/Drawer Project

Water proof wood with aluminum lining and top opening from the left side for storage of compressor line and access to storage area under left wheel arc. The Aluminum lining is useless though.

Drawers firmly locked, FJ Cruiser original cargo mat placed on top, compressor installed over rear wheel arc and wiring done from ignition

Drawer system firmly bolted from the front on the original bolt place and rear with U bolt and tensioner

Total cost - Aed 690 - Aed 750 (approx) - Quality, durability and economy wise, it is way better than the Ironman EMU drawer system which is priced at Aed 5300.

Nice looking system you have there!

AED 5,300 from Ironman? Ouch!

If you're not as handy as Muhammed, something from our site at AED 3,000:

Many thanks! It feels good indeed.

Took two days to make it and about an hour to fix it.

Hi Muhammed,
Nice work, looks very organised.
I like the idea so much that I did it more than a year back ;)
Originally it was just like yours, then I customised it to fit couple of folding chairs and tent, and safely hold a jerry can, water, petrol or both (basically made it 3/4 of its size in width, and will allow me access the left side storage compartment in the back tyre arch)
Then lately I added THE BED mod, a sleeping platform up to my length that I can comfortably sleep on without the headache of setting the tent up and folding it later.
Obviously all the above is well secured to the body that will not move a centimetre even in a roll over
Lately we introduced this mod to the xterra with some modifications and it works like a treat, so far ;)

Hi Desert Hawk,
Thanks, I really want to see the pictures of the modifications that allowed chairs tents and etc. And how did you fix it from the back?

Indeed, my next modification will be for the bed - I would be grateful if you could post some pictures of this modification as well please.

One of my friends asked me to make one for him and it turned out to be a better product somehow!

This has become very interesting now.....

Oh yes, I have left space on the left side - I can access the storage area on the left wheel arc - I have stored the jack, shovel and etc.

Then there is some space where the compressor pipe rests for easy access!

I have such a small space in the boot of my JK due to the extra speaker installed - I can only just fit my compressor!! My only solution is to remove the rear seats which is something I am considering!
