Re: RB project Updates
Some updates.
Here are the results of the fuel pressure test:
Once in Operation Temperature, the truck stays between 48 and 49PSI.
The gauge needle is very stable.
When turned of, the pressure almost imediatly goes down to 45 PSI. It took 7 minutes for the pressure to go down from 45 PSI to 20 PSI.
So, Can we now eliminate any fuel pressure problems ??

Re: RB project Updates
I didn't rev the engine. I didn't have any one to do so as it was late at night..
I will try to redo the test on Thursday.
But other forums have asked me to do the test while the car is moving ? How can I do that ?

you need
adapter for ELECTRICAL fuel pressure sending unit like this one: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-G1710/ or http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MRG-2975/
ELECTRICAL fuel pressure sending unit and instrument like e.g. this one: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ATM-4363/ or http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ATM-6963/ (both have sender included, maybe your plx has such an option?)
you don't want a mechanical gauge ... who wants fuel line in cab?!

Re: RB project Updates
I'm thinking about using the PLX Fluid pressure sensor (see the above diagram) to log monitor and log fuel pressure when I'm in the vehicle.
But this will take some work to do..

Re: RB project Updates
RB is currently setting in my home parking collecting dust. I haven't started for about a month now so I don't know if it will actually start.
One trip was canceled this week so I finally have some time to re work on it. I have installed an AFR sensor before, So I will try to do some logging.
I have today and tomorrow to work on the truck. I did a small test yesterday and I'm suspecting a problem with either the Fuel Pump (or fuel delivery system) or the PCM configuration.
I will be doing the following today:
1- buy a windows based laptop (all logging applications doesn't work on mac)
2- redo the fuel pressure test with revving.
3- Connect the ODB II and the AFR modules to the Laptop and get some decent logs.
4- prepare the car for registration (the registration expired since one month).

Re: RB project Updates
Hi Guys,
Long time no see ..
Finally, I have finished some "side Projects" and started working on RB again.
We replaced the Fuel Pump with a new OEM Mopar Unit (thanks SSS and Dino for the help). It was hard to find as most people sell AC Declo Unit. We also double checked the engine for Intake leak and found nothing. The Overheating issue seems to be over, but I'm not sure yet.
I sent the truck to registration and thankfully, it passed without issues. The only note I got is the right rear frame control arm mount; which was badly fixed by the previous owner. This did not affect the renewal process. However, I might replace to avoid any future issues.
If everything goes as planned, I might join the trips next week (Inshallah) ..
Wish me Luck ..
things to do this week:
1- Order more parts from Quadratec to fix minor issues here and there.
2- Fix the Hardtop leaks, Temporarily at least.
3- Re-install the bumpers and lights.
4- Drive around to double check the heating issues.
5- Might do a dyno run to tune the engine. "just might"

Re: RB project Updates
Thanks guys ..
Pride might not be the right world. I just hope that RB starts running without issues so that I can enjoy this season. Inshallah, this will be the case soon..
Unfortunately, I was busy with 3 other car builds during the summer and RB had to be parked for a while. Looking at the bright side, I have made some money as a result and some of it will be spent on RB insha allah ..

Re: RB project Updates
All the Projects were for "Private" Customers. Unfortunately, They don't want the information about the cars or owners to be published. So, I have to keep silent for now ..
