LOL, actually the car + all the mods + installation will only cost me AED60k. Which is still cheaper than buying a used JK.

The only thing that is out side the budget is the king shocks, seats and Bigger Gas Tank. I might not do this mods but let us see what happens.

can you elaborate more about the winch? synthetic or cable? what's the capacity? and price? what did they accept as method of payment? can you send me the link to this specific winch, their web site is not that user friendly.
thanks

The winch is a very long story. I was looking for a light winch in the front because I didn't feel like putting 40KG+ thing in front of my already "nose heavy" TJ. SO, I was originally planning to by Warn 9.0RC competition winch. It is a very nice 25KG winch with Synthetic robe. But it costs $1400 ! which is too much for a 9000lb (4 tons) winch ! :?

So I was looking for other options. The X2o Competition is 5KG heavier. But It is more than half the price cheaper and provide 1000lb (4.5 tons) of winching power.

Basically, Smitybilt have two major types, The XRC and the X20. Each Type have different sizes and the normal and Synthetic Robe Versions. The Synthetic version is called the "competition Series" and are 12kg lighter than their Cabled Counterparts. 8-)

The X20 is basically an XRC with "water proof sealing". That doesn't mean that the XRC will fail if it rains or if you crossed water. It only means that the x20 have a better type of grease for the motor and Gears. Honstly, You can have the same effect for much cheaper by re-greasing an XRC winch! :geek:

Here is a link for the one I bought:
http://www.smittybilt.com/product/index/152.htm
note that some pictures are not right and that the winch weight is actually 30KG and not 42.5KG. Some body needs to check their websites !

Regarding the prices, here is a list:

The XRC series:
XRC 8000LB: $299.99
XRC 10000LB: $399.99
XRC 8000LB Comp-Series: $449.99
XRC 10000LB Comp-series: $549.99

The X20 (water proof) series:
X20 8000LB: $399.99
X20 10000LB: $499.99
X20 8000LB Comp-Series: $549.99
X20 10000LB Comp-series: $649.99

I bought it from Summitracing.com. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SMT-98310/

They do accept Visa Cards and there is an online shipping calculator. I got the shipping for much cheaper because I ordered bunch of things at once !

one final thing. XRC 10 Comp series is available while you need to wait until the end of the month to get the X20 version.

No problems, I just hope that I didn't "over" answered!

Nah, It is just a cheap winch. I don't think that a winch is much needed in sand driving. But having it is always nice !

Yeah. Better have it and not need it than need it and not have it ! :D

Besides, The Mopar Bumper will not like right without a winch on top ! 8-)

Yes a winch is really good to have ... better having one then having none.

Don't forget a Sand Anchor as well ;) - this is the part i like also ... being able to winch yourself out if needed
