Re: RB project Updates

Post by ossme »

Long time no updates. :? So I decided to do Some quick updates mobile shots !

First thing is My New Hardtop ! 8-) The price was good and I couldn't say no. :) I had some serious leaking issue from the top windshield frame ceiling. Few new parts and some duct tape and the issue is solved. The rear wiper/heater doesn't work. I haven't looked into that yet..
IMG_0907.JPG
I also replaced the old "Sharjah" suspension system with a new one. :D RB is currently running on Iron Man 2" Coils and Rancho 9000xl Adjustable Shocks. the combination works great! 8-) I have also replaced the stock steering Stabilizer with one from Iron Man. :)
IMG_0908.JPG
My ARB twin Compressor was also installed, finally ! 8-) I decided to mount it inside the engine bay and it working great so far. :) I used the left Battery tray as a location for the compressor. I had to remove the tray and drill new holes in the supporting frame to mount the compressor. :ugeek: The performance is extreme! 8-) even with the cracked Manifold... :? This compressor is also used for my rear ARB locker. The front locker will be using a small mopar compressor. :)
IMG_0909.JPG
I also managed to install an sPOD switching and fuse system in my RB. It is a great system that should be installed on every jeep! 8-) Thanks Manny from xtorm4x4.com for the great help ! :) Currently the arb compressor, the front and rear lockers are connected to the sPOD. I'm waiting for a set of LED lights from Ramy to connect the rest.
IMG_0922.JPG
Note: those labeled switches did not come with the sPOD. I had to buy those separately. :? But they look cool and fit perfectly ! 8-)

Well, that is all for this post. Wait for part 2 to see the rest  !

I like your suspension!!!

BTW: you could run your rubicon locker with your high output ARB twin compressor IF YOU USE a pressure regulator in the line to the rubi locker ... 5-6psi required there ;)

Ossme, I'm no technical expert like Chafik, but it looks like you're going to end up spending a very pretty penny by the time this project is over! I test drove the Pentastar with an automatic transmission yesterday and was BLOWN AWAY! Perhaps you should consider a new Jeep altogether?

If I could sell mine for a decent price, I would buy the Pentastar! That engine is to die for! To quote Amin, all you need to do is to put a lift kit and steel bumpers, and you could take that thing ANYWHERE!

Thanks .. I'm doing my best to join trips.. it is not easy to join trips when you are always on the move in and out of the country .. :?

I know that I can use a regulator, but I already have a rubicon compressor! :S Well, let us see what happen, I might go the route you suggested in the end !

I hate to say this to you but .. :? I TOLD YOU TO WAIT FOR THE NEW ENGINE !! ;) The price is also great! 8-)

But, by the time I'm finished, The cost of the car + all the modes will be around AED55,000. So, for that is half the price of the Most basic new Jeep. :? .. and I would hopfully have a better car than a stock new Jeep! 8-)

It makes things hundred times easier! 8-) You should get one ! :D
If you did then I would highly recommend Manny from xtorm. Really great service! :)

I will take new pictures for the rest of the mods once I gethome hopefully tomorrow ! see you until then !

Re: RB project Updates

Post by ossme »

OK, I will try to post some picture updates on the weekend.

But Until then, here is what I'm waiting for:

Shipment 1: AEV Stuff
Source: Ranger Abu Dhabi
Expected Delivery Date: 15/2/2011
Expected installation Date: 1/3/2011
Contains:

1) AEV Highline KIt
Image
this kit will give 3.5" more space to put bigger tires. I can fit 33" tires on the TJ with 0 lift, 35" tires with only 2" lift. 8-)

2) AEV Tummy Tucker for YJ, TJ & LJ
Image
This Skidplate will give RB 2.75" more clearance at the skid plate with no additional lift.

As you can see, I'm aiming for a "High Clearance" and "Low Center of Gravity" concept. I will be (inshallah) running 35" tires with only 1.75" of lift! 8-)

Shipment 2: Differential Stuff
Source: Summitracing.com
Expected Delivery Date: 21/2/2011
Expected installation Date: 1/3/2011
Contains:
1) Superior Rubicon 4.88 Ring and Pinion Kit
Image
I was originally planned for Richmond but they don't make thick gears. :(

2) G2 Rubicon and Standard Ring and Pinion Master Installation Kit
Image
It is hard to find ones that fits Rubicon axle... :?

3) Superior Evolution Rear Dana 44 30 spline axle shafts
Image
This is the strongest I can find. I opted for the 30 spline because I can always use the old ones as a spare. :)

4) Superior Super 35 Dana 44 Truss Kit:
Image
This will make my Rear axle Bomb Proof. It is a bolt on kit so I don't need to worry about wielding things up! ;)

5) SmittyBilt x2o-10 Comp Series Winch with Free Smittybilt winch Cover:
Image
Water Proof, Light, and cheap ! It will be useful when I become a Marshal !

Shipment 3: RCV Front axle Shafts
Source: ebay
Expected Delivery Date: Delivered
Expected installation Date: 1/3/2011
Contains:

1) RCV Performance Front Dana 44 CV Shaft
Image
The Strongest axle shaft. Being, a Dana 44 shaft, it is much stronger than the dana 30 counter part. So I'm expecting my Ring and Pinion to break before this one does !

Shipment 4: Diff Stuff Continues ...
Source: Quadratec.com
Expected Delivery Date: unknown .. :?
Expected installation Date: 1/3/2011 .. hopefully ..
Contains:

1) Synergy Inner Axle Sleeve Kit for For Front Rubicon Dana 44
Image
It's a Jeep thing ..

2) Riddler Differential cover for Dana 44
Image
Complete the Front axle.

3) LubeLocker Differntial Gasket
Image
Just an Expensive Differential Gasket ..

Shipment 5: 35" tires
Source: 4wd.com
Expected Delivery Date: 15/3/2011
Expected installation Date: 30/3/2011
Contains:

1) BFGoodrich KM2 Mud Tires 35x12.5R15
Image
Only 1LB heavier than my current 33x12.5R15 Cooper tires. 8-)

Shipment 6: Front brake upgrade kit
Source: Black Magic (Thanks SSS ! )
Expected Delivery Date: 15/2/2011
Expected installation Date: 1/3/2011
Contains:

1) Jeep TJ 97-98, Front Black Magic Brake Pads, Calipers and Rotors
No Pictures, Sorry !

Shipment 7: remaining Stuff
Source: Different local Sources
Expected Delivery Date: Mostly Delivered
Expected installation Date: Mostly Installed

Image
I like how I can open and close the tire carrier and the rear door through a single motion. :)

2) American Off Road 3Watt LED light (SPOT)
Image

3) American Off Road 3Watt LED light (Flood)
Image
Round things look good on TJ !
