Ok ... sad news again :

the normal gmc alternator + power steering do not fit into the space left ...
So we ordered the corvette parts.

The car is still in the exhaust shop - and will be finished on saturday ( long tube headers, new exhaust + "extra muroor muffler" ) . I don't feel like laughing - but it cannot be helped, it will probably take another 2 weeks.

I thought hisham did his homework BEFORE !?

And I thought your 6.2 vvt (L92) comes stock as a truck engine with high mount alternator and SP ??!!?

Be carefull with all the corvette accessory mounts ... you NEED a different crank pulley as well! different depths!
(eventually new water pump ? :? )
If you put the corvette mounts on you basically have to change the whole serpentine system!

check out THOSE guys instead :

I'm not feeling good about this. This is simply irritating. :x

8-) don't worry too much ... for the LSx engines you can get ALL stuff needed to make it work!
The shop simply forgot, that the front JK axle housing (on the powersteering pump side) is a HIGH PINION model ... which eventually means relocating the power steering pump ... the truck vortecs supposed to have the the alternator up high anyway!!!

The TJs have a low pinion axle housing ... might get around it ... but the F-body/Camaro style accessory mounts (which I have in my donor caprice) have both A/C (needs relocation!) and alternator (MIGHT need relocation) down low at each side of the oil pan

btw: Oil Pan ! make sure they put a REAR sump oil pan with windage tray and the right pick up tube in! and if you want it PERFECT: try to get a low profile Oil Pan for your Block (e.g. Cadillac CTS-V  ) search ebay for LS1 swap oil pans!

in other words: Hisham is only doing research when he gets stuck ... grrrr ... I WILL GET ALL THE STUFF BEFORE HE EVEN STARTS TO SCRATCH HIS HEAD :dash1:

a real corvette engine would have fitted like a glove perfectly ... but where to get ... and OUCH expensive

@ SSS: Would you be interested in an LS7 engine ??

LS7? :fie: :shock1: :shock1:

>500 hp ... > 600Nm :swooon: ... it would fit ... but it would grenade my transfer case ... or my rear driveshaft or my rear diff  ... and if it does not grenade anything then BOTH front wheels WILL lift off the ground EVERY time I want to start moving    (until something grenades)

I would be interested in ALL the accessory mounts, pulleys, accessories, serpentine belt and the headers though

LS7 is also really nice ... but you also need a good tranny for this ... the 4l60e will not take it - minimum 4l80e ... or 6l80e ;)
