Emong you will enjoy sand driving, it is easier to clean the car than after mud driving.
I once had to clean mine from Mount Pinatubo mud, it sure makes a difference !

Juan, on the website go to "Home" then "Forums" then "Newbie Trips" and you will find ANITs announced there.

Hello everybody!

I'm David and I recently moved from France to Abu Dhabi last summer with my wife and our two kids (6 and 4). I have just discovered the desert by following friends, but I'm definitely a newbie and I really need to start from zero. I'm going to join an ANIT next friday!

I love the desert in two ways: for its beauty during the day but also by night because I'm an astronomy enthusiast from many years. Recently I camped in the Liwa desert and I brought my telescope (it is a very, very big one)... It was awesome.

I use to drive 2 cars: Toyota Fortuner (V6 4l, 2013) and Nissan Patrol 2011 (LE).

I look forward to meet you.

I'm an ophthalmologist with the new Cleveland Clinic and have been here 5 months. Currently working at SKMC until CCAD opens.

Hi everyone,

I'm Alan over here in AD from the UK with my wife, we decided to pick up an older 4x4 with a view to getting out in the desert at some point and trying some off-roading. We ended up buying a Jeep Cherokee/Liberty KJ, 2006 with 90000 km on it which is stock. Once I've given it a going over and sorted the rear suspension out which is clanging a bit I'll be hopefully joining an ANIT. I've read a few posts here that say the Liberty in stock form is okay for beginner off reading, is that correct?

We're both complete newbies to vehicle off reading (although I'm a dab hand at Mountain Biking), but really fancy getting out into the desert with some like minded, friendly folk and doing some sight seeing whilst enjoying the fun.
