Replacing my car. Pajero or Nissan Patrol?

Hi all - I'm looking for some advice from the great Abu Dhabi 4 x 4 community.

I bought my trusty Pajero 3.8 a couple of years ago, and have used it for several desert trips. She's been a fantastic car. Reliable and capable of getting me and my family and their stuff everywhere we've wanted to go. But the car is 9 years old now so I want to replace her before things start to go wrong.

My choice is another Pajero (new or nearly new) or a Nissan Patrol (the newer one not the Safari) because we need the 7 seats. I love the Nissan Patrol for the road. Masses of space for the family and visitors. But is it good enough for offroad?

Anyone here that uses a Nissan Patrol in the club. Is it OK on the sand?

Thanks!

I would ideally recommend the Jeep Wrangler... but as you need a 7 seats car, you can also consider the Fortuner, it's a reliable car with amazing capabilities off road & on road.

Thanks. Wrangler will be too small for me. I've never really considered the Fortuner. Will take a look.

The Prado I heard was a bit underpowered?

I really like the Super Safari too.
