Post by jesylg33 »

Hello everybody,

From your experience, what would you recommend as the better vehicle between the Toyota LC70 and Nissan 2 Door Y61 hardtop. What would you rate higher in terms of:

1. Better suited for desert driving
2. Reliability
3. Maintenability
4. As a daily use vehicle

Apprecite your feedback
Cheers
Jerry

Y61 is softer for daily use
IC70 is very tough for daily use

1) Y61 in my opinion. The leafs in the back of an LC70 are bouncy and the ride is quite high (stock) the few times I drove it, it felt top heavy. Difficult to put in bigger tires and you'll need to do some cutting into the fender wells  The Nissan will love a nice 2" OME lift, maybe some spacers (H&M for example), and you're good to go - very clean and simple job. You could always go to Mebar and have the rear of the LC70 converted to standard shocks & springs and drop about 30k on the job.

2) Cannot comment

3) Cannot comment

4) Y61 - Leafs on the LC70 can get noisy after some time. Soundproofing on the Nissan is much better and is overall a much more comfortable ride as a DD. Slightly bigger trunk space if i'm not mistaken.

I know a few people who have had issues with the LC70's intake, not too clear on the details. The Y61 is a proven car that you cannot go wrong with and will not lose value easily.

All the above said, I think the LC70 is a beautiful car, I wouldn't buy it though.

I would get a short shifter for either of those cars :P takes about 2 minutes to downshift from 2nd to 1st

Y61 is definately more reliable than a LC70 aka Ruba. Y61 all the way.

LC70 vs Y61 2 Door

Both of them very good care easy to maintain both you can drive as daily use also both of the car easy to sale however there is an advantage for both like :
1-LC 70 you are talking about one the best car for re sale value .
1- patrol also it is no bad for re sale .
2- very easy to maintain for both (any Bangaly :) ).
3- the performance , patrol more powerful than lc70.
3- patrol is more stable in the desert.
4- I love lc70 but the reason for not buying lc70 , lc70 doesn't have coil system at the back it has slave and if you want to change the system you have to pay around 25 k .

Finally if you ask me for sure i can say go for lovely patrol.
