Hey guys,

Relative newbie.

Been looking at Jeeps as i like the look of them but someone mentioned maybe not the best choice.

So simple q;

If you had 50k to spend on an off roader you can also use as a daily what would you be looking at/for?

I prefer manual as like the control but really just want advice from everyone and a nice pros and cons list type thing to steer me onto the path of happy off roading.

:)

Go for a used Nissan Extera Auto - Forget the Manual gear, you are in UAE enjoy the easy life.

I've always found driving autos quite a soulless experience. Maybe different off roading but I've always enjoyed having that control.

Will take a peak at the nissan though cheers :)

Dont lesson to him is old & lazy (joking), find your self nice Wrangler with manual (you can try the auto at the beginning but am sure you will be back to the manual when u become expert)
you can find TJ 2005/06 around 30-40k ot JK 2008-10
If you want easy smooth drive during daily use the options are Pajero/ Patrol/ Xterra/ Cherokee/ Grand Cherokee/ Prado/ Fortuner

Haha expert so that's after my first trip on the sand right? :D

Can't say I'm bothered by a smooth ride daily. I have a little hot hatch sports car that I think they have forgotten to put suspension on!

Someone on my intro thread mentioned Jeep was a mistake as I always had a wrangler in mind as like the look. Thus this thread! Those Nissans xterra don't look so bad though.

I was teasing on that as we always argue between jeep and other cars.

Haha OK.

Genuinely thought I was being a spoon considering a wrangler!

Will enjoy chipping in when I have a bit of experience under my belt :)

Wrangler is a great car ofcourse, the best in the desert - But I always say, it is not a daily drive car. I have a Wrangler which I only take for offroad - you can do the same, buy an on road car and a Wrangler to enjoy in the desert
