Dr Muroor - Pass/Fail Experiences

First test failed with metal bumper that had plastic crush cans.
Swapped the bumper out and got it rechecked with no issues.
Thanks for the update Jasper.

It is quite a relief once you get the l certificate. Did you go the western motors route to get the original bumper fitted?

There was talk of certain modifications being legalised and I assume that certain steel bumpers will be part of it but I don't know when that will come into force. In the meantime we will just have to keep our fingers crossed.

Hey - Yeah I went via WM, managed to get it swapped out for around 580 dhs. Still yet to put the metal one back on!
Fingers crossed for the rule change, it doesn't seem all that logical to me... :?

My starting position at main Muroor location in Abu Dhabi:

'12 JK Sahara with Mopar 2.0 Fox Lift kit, 285/70 R17 Cooper A/T3 on stock rims with 1.5" wheel spacers, kill switch, windshield mounted LED offroad lights, tinted glass except windscreen.

Thanks for the update Topdrive. Yes, it appears the safest is to remove the additional lights, although some have had success by just covering them up.
I assume you have standard plastic bumper.

I heard that AD cars can get tested in Dubai (more lenient??!) and then register in AD. Is this correct?

My car needed testing after 2 years not 3 which was a surprise, turns out that if your car is a 2013 model then it is 3 years old even if it was registered in 2014.

Went to the test centre in AD, covered up the lights beforehand. It passed, but was informed that for next time the lights should be removed.

Thanks Lee - always interesting to hear the experiences. I'm planning on going to RTA this year to see if I can get the Rhino through without removing the steel bumper (just need to get the plastic bump/crush cans back on). I was informed by a well known modification installer that they can provide a certificate for works they have executed, which helps during the testing process.

I got my car in April 2014 so would that mean I need it tested this year or next year?
