Just to share the latest:

1. no tint at all is allowed anymore on the front windshield
2. payment for the registration by credit card ONLY
3 take along your passport, EID may not be sufficient

I passed my street car today, had hurdles with 1. and 3.

WTF! I was forced to payed for this EID for all my family, even for 2 years old son! Explain me please, how 2 years old child can use ID?!
And now EID not sufficient in their own premises!

Alezz ... The country rules should be respected.
Using foul language in AD4x4 website is not allowed as well specially when talking about the country, the government and the rules

Thank you Fox. i have a tint along the top of the windescreen (2 inches), does this mean it needs to be removed. To be fair it is more of a pain especially when in the desert.
Second one is a problem, as my company do real estate and as such, bank wont give my credit card.

but i have until July.

They asked for my passport only (not families). It seems their computer did not have data about my
visa renewal. This can happen.
By the way, the question was solved very courteously and very unbureaucratically without having me
do additional travelling.
I am very thankful to the persons there who handled it, even though they were not personally responsible
for the information lack in the computer.

I asked that question of course. The reply was, that a tint strip in the upper portion of the windshield would
be accepted. I guess you will not have to worry about that.

For not having a credit card, I do not know. Can you take a friend along who will pay for you with his credit
card and you reimburse him in cash ? This is about AED 105,-, so your friend should give you that much
credit even though you are in real estate. Actually, I will volunteer.

a little bite more information:

- Muroor is now open round the clock from sunday morning to thursday evening.

- you do not need anymore to queue for renewal, as soon as your insurance is in the system, and you got your inspection approved. When going in the main room, you will find some ATM like machine on your RHS. Using your ID card will enable to renew your registration (without paying your fine my dear Scorpionita) in 5 minutes. or course, you'll need a debit/credit card.

- check your nearest petrol station. Registration office are now in numerous places and you can do it somewhere else than just Muroor and Mussafah.
