Minimum two & they used to tie the towing rope to tow point in your car, look for the rated ones from ACE or ARB (3/4), for towing rope from Jeep aka Sami u can check the 4sale forum, good OFF-roading MrsFJeep :okaay: , thats what i call getting ready for long season of off-roading

Shackles are used to connect the snatch strap or rope to the recovery point in your vehicle. It is safer to have 2 of them. You can find them in ARB or ACE. Don't get the ones in Carrefour

Hi Mrs FJ and welcome to AD4x4!

Please check your messages as I've sent you a pm re shopping!

Bulldozer - called in at ARB today and they only had one large shackle left, which I got. Only small ones in stock - not sure when they are getting more in.

Some of the hardware shops they have rated shakles also but u need th check the rating its written on it for big toys u need minimum (3/4), Be ware that the big shakles cannot fit it in the towing lug cuz the pin diameter will be bigger than the hole in the lug, I recommend to check the shakle with your car towing lug

[quote="iguana"]OK, now lets revise the list again ...

1. Your car should be in a very good condition.
2. You should make sure that you have front and rear towing points.
3. a rated towing rope (8000 KG +) ONLY FROM ACE OR ARB and make sure they are 8000 KG not less. (AED 99 in ACE and AED 240 in ARB)
4. Rated Shackles 5000 KG + .. The ones they are selling in ACE is 3.5 Tons and they break .. Better get it from the Marine shops or a shop called Juamaa trading in Najda Street beside RAFCO Building. (AED 40 each)
5. Basic Tool kit from ACE or a professional shop (AED 100 - 200)
6. Air compressor (Bushranger) again from ACE or ARB (AED 600 - 900)
7. Deflators (ARB AED 220)
8. Flash light (Any kind)
9. Gloves
10. Fold-able shovel
11. Fire Extinguisher (The club sells them for AED 35)
12. Tire Gauge

13. pole and flag to see where you are
14. walkie talkie
Jeep KJ OME lift kit, mopar cat back, mopar cold air intake,BFG A/T<br>Jeep ZJ OME lift kit, K&N filter, Daytona Rim, BFG A/T 31", Garmi 276C<br><br>"My jeep is not an SUV....Your SUV is not a Jeep"

Folks, I’m looking to buy a two-way radio and a fire extinguisher

Any advice on what is a good model of radio and best place to buy? Preferably anyone selling on here, would prefer the money to go in house.

Thanks
Colin
