OK guys. I am always saying Jeep, Jeep & Jeep. But if we are coming to reality, Hummers are not bad cars, they might be a bit heavy and does not have enough power, but don't forget the H1. Now Don't start listing all the bad things about H1 and don't forget that the only good thing in a Wrangler is that it's light weight and can go any where ...

Correction: AM General is the builder of the millitary H1 HUMVEE(High MobilityWheeledVehicle):!: GM ceased production of the civilian H1 last year. Owing to low sales figures mostly down to higher US gas prices and the practicality of such a large vehicle. Thats where the more fuel efficient H3 comes in with its excellent offroad prowess and somewhat better fuel efficiencyChuck wrote:Which is build by AMC ( former Jeep owner ) and is therefore almost a grandson of the Wrangler.iguana wrote:, but don't forget the H1.
So drop the H1 from this discussion, it's now a legend. And a fcukin good one at that

Oh dear.............. I never thought I'd support a Hummer but........JustforFun wrote:
Ahhh, the old HUMMER vs Jeep issue - this one will never go away....
What one needs to remember is something very simple.... (apart from the ability of the driver which is plain to see in the vid clip)
A STOCK Jeep does not have the same capability as a STOCK HUMMER (H1, H2 or H3...)
Cheers

The performance of one of the (stock) Wranglers (with keen / experienced driver) we had on our trip in Bahrain yesterday was, to be frank, woeful. In a gulley which numerous other vehicles (including a stock Pajero, a stock Jeep Cherokee, a stock Chevvy Silverado, a stock Range Rover mk III and a stock H3) have driven sucessfully it was constantly getting stuck and was cross-axled several times in areas where I've never noticed (in the RR mkIII, a larger & signifigantly heavier vehicle) any obstructions.
Are you talking about a standard or modified vehicle?? I'd have thought a standard (i.e. unmodified) Wrangler would've been superb offroad but after seeing one in action yesterday I'm amazed at how poorly it performed.iguana wrote:and don't forget that the only good thing in a Wrangler is that it's light weight and can go any where ...
Sorry if that upsets any Jeep owners, it's just what we witnessed with stock vehicles.

Interesting......
Thanks Richard. Some bare facts from Bahrain, any comments ad4x4 Jeepers? I know, I know, you are all going to come back with "what about your stucks/refusals yesterday H3" on the Advanced trip but what about Mozi with a slightly modified H3? Any complaints there?...La......Exactly!......QED.
I am running completely stock, except for the tyres however some mods are in the pipeline to sort the power issue. Watch this space..................
