To add more weight to the JK.....Nasser wrote:Where dit you read/hear that 8O - dont agree with you at all !!mike0967 wrote:Sorry, but this is so wrongkerMitt wrote: to drive the jk in the desert u have to stay on low gear only... you cant drive on high.
The JK can be driven on Hi and it goes. However, I think Kermitt is talking about Extreme Advanced Trips, then yes, some of the routes take us to places where u find yourself compelled to use Low gears. I mix both, depending on the terrain. In Liwa, for example, there are places where u simply have to be in Low even if it is a TJ.
Those who think a JK cant make it on extereme tracks on 4HI and can only be driven on 4Lo !!!!! Am sorry to say they are wrong..... Don't take my word for granted, you are invited to be may passenger and see how stock Engine can do a lot, provided the modifications you do on your JK are professionally selected.....
The big question and compromise here is how modified is a modified JK?
Am I adding more confusion to the formula?????
As we speak there are two great Wranglers offered that IMHO are very nicely upgraded, perform very well and look great... The Red TJ of Iguana and the Bluish Tank of Jax...It is really a tough decision, but eventually its your own choice and liking. If I was to buy one of those, I would go for quick road test and buy the one I feel myself comfortable with...

If you haven't been to LIWA, you haven't seen the desert yet......Dare you follow me? !!!!
And if you haven't seen Jeeping in Moab, you don't know what you're missing.
Never settle for less....

I totally agree with u on this one Chief. However, there r certain situations where I'd rather engage Low and get out of trouble and OMG, it becomes unstoppable when in L and I mean in really really extreme conditionskhaiwi wrote: To add more weight to the JK.....

Guys, I know Iguanas TJ is one of the best cars in town. My first TJ I ever drove was Iguanas and it is just awesome unique, same as Jax tank, but I look for someting more basic to build it up myselve.
Got a unbeatable offer for a JK with 5000 km on the clock for a very good price.
Tank you all for your advices!!!

Mabrook,,,,
Is it really Wrangler X ????? US import????
Can you double check what differentials it has....If am not mistaken the TJ's X used to be 4 cylinders small engine for better fuel consumption. But am not sure about the JK X models.
Anyway it looks nice with the colored fender flares and bumbers.
Regards,

Re: Advice needed! Jeep TJ or JK????
Yes it is a US import with the 3.8 Liter V6
There are differences in the options. My JK has complete painted fenders and more stuff inside like electrical windows and so on.
Typical for US import, no recovery hooks. Just got them from western motors today.

Re: Advice needed! Jeep TJ or JK????
Totaly wrong!! Jeeps are having the same numbers of stuck recovery here as in the states (non!), but in the states there are not so many "Nissan Badrolls", "Landrover Discoverys" and so on registered, which needs our "helping hand"!Lionbar wrote:Dont they break-down in the states then, or is that just the exported edition?????Cybershot wrote:
