Are there any light off road areas on the island that would be decent enough to take something for testing purposes?

Sorry should have mentioned, on Abu Dhabi island itself. Just something basic that is not concrete or only hard rocky/gravelly stuff. Basically somewhere that doesn't require a 30+ km drive

The building site next door has gravel... :P

We can barely find a parking spot on AD Island let alone a play area.

Seriously though, there are places just off the island but it dangerous to go because its full of building sites, huge projects, and the terrain changes on a daily bases. Bulldozer tracks that swallow your car up, sheer drops that kill you because an earth mover chewed half of the dune away... just nasty.

The biggest patch of sand I can think of is on Salam St leaving the Island, after the corniche, on the right side next to Bateen airport. (Just before Ministry of Labour etc)

Big area of sand that isnt yet developed. Even seen the odd vehicle stuck there.
It'd be ok I guess if you wanted to briefly try some tyres or something

Yeah I actually work next to this patch and sometimes have to rescue said stuck people when passing by. I gotta say I do play sometimes aswell, it may be flat but its good for practicing self recovery.
If you like ryan, I can meet you there one luch time to help out with anything you need, PM me if you need any assistance with anything.

But like G-Man said, don't go off the island as it is EXTREMELY dangerous and unpredictable.

Good luck mate, call me if you need anything. 050 880 2485
