Post by yellowmanta »

please guys, tell me what you need and i will help. yes ,this will cost teamwork to arrange. somebody must be like the trip coordinator and then tell the guys and girl what is needed.

imagine we do what we love, driving our babies in a big convoy to the f1. the club must take advantage of this and get some publicity out of this.we will reach a lot of magazines here in the middle east.

come on guys, lets start.

cheers :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks you for interest in going to FI GP
First of all we would like to thank our friends at Bahrain 4x4 for WELCOMMING us.
Now the ball is in our hand. we need to finilese this by mid april but before that we I suggest the following

(1) We need endorsement from our club
(2) We need to form a task team
(3) we need to get our vehicle in tip top condition
(4) We need to get all visa, insurances, medical coverages

The task team will cary out the following activities

- Overal planning.
- Oversee all paperworks are in order.
-Arrange for logistics including refuelling and recovering.

So please, as we are waiting for endorsement fro the club who wants to do what in term of the above.

hey guys. what's happening with the trip? don't see to much posts in here.we tell more people more regularly of this or shouts.

mpenzi. i don,t know where to start, just tell me what you need and i'm there.

one idea about getting our vehicles in tip top condition. can't we recomend a workshop or mechanic to inspect all vehicles prior to the trip before we leave. say like an mass inspection and also somebody like that to join on the trip.

cheers.

At the moment we have not yet receive a "' go ahead'' from the club founders.

All those who want to join in trip should be aware of the regulations and disclaimer requirements of this club.

What i can say at the moment i Get your Pass ports and visas ready. Money for the fuel ready, car insurance coverage ready.

:o Guys is any one know if we need an international driving license or not to drive in Qatar and Saudia.
:o Is any body drive to Omra or Haj trip that he can highlight the situation on the boarders and what to carry and not to carry.
There is a camp area near the Bahrain GP Circuit that we may put our camp.

Sambatia did it 4 weeks ago with his H3.

He did:

 Took a clearance certificate from finacing Bank in Dubai
 Submitted it to Dubai Traffic department hence freed the car to go Outside UAE
 bought insurance extension
 Took a visa from here, But I personally did take it at the airport there twice... but safer to have from here before hand
 Triptick? I will ask him.

I am most concerned that OFF ROAD wasn't mentioned ... is it alll going to be on Tarmac?

I dont think there will be Off roading. Tamraz
Off corse we will be with our friend from Bahrain 4x4 and they might show us some off road places in Bahrain, mind you Bahrain is very small and i gues there is no sand dunes to play.

Hey Tamraz could you please ask Sambatia to give us some idea of places for the refuelling and What to expect on the road, Road conditions.

Thanks man

Guys I would love to join this trip as well, but will need all of your local knowledge and advice re visa etc, presumably I will need a visa for each country I will drive through? The actual Grand Prix is on Sunday 15th April, do we need to be applying for tickets now? or can Bahrain 4x4 assist.

That is good question.
Once we had a good number of confirmation then we may ask our friends to book the tickets for us.
Or actualy we can obtain the tickets throught the Box office ( I dont know their contact numbers) I will try to get the information.

In terms of the Visas I dont know.. Is any one can comment on that.

I have just checked Saudi Embassy website. It appears that driving through Saudi from UAE that you can be granted a 7 day Road Transit Visa, however other websites advise that even with this visa you are sometimes blocked at the border from entering! The Saudi Embassy tel no: in Abu Dhabi is 4445700, it may be worth while an Arabic speaker ringing them to confirm the procedure, any takers? GCC nationals do not require a visa apparantly. Mal
