AD4x4 Alcohol Policy
Posted: Tue Oct 24, 2017 8:33 am
Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a polite reminder regarding the consumption of alcoholic beverages whilst on official AD4x4 Trips.
Consumption of alcohol is not allowed in all official AD4x4 trips.
This includes breaks during the trip, post trip BBQs and Chit Chat sessions where the group is still within the trip area and inflation has not yet occurred. The trip is only closed once all drivers are on tarmac and inflated. The only exception is where the trip includes overnight camping and no night drive element is planned; consumption is to be monitored by the Trip Leader and kept under control, especially if driving is planned the following day.
It is the responsibility of ALL Marshalls, Explorers and Experts who lead trips to notify the members attending of this policy. Not only is it AD4x4 policy, it is also breaking the law, religous beliefs and cultural aspects of life in the United Arab Emirates, and could lead to prosecution of the individual(s) concerned and bring the name of AD4x4 under scrutiny by the local authorities.
I will be updating the Club Rules, Regulations and Indemnity Statement to reflect this policy for dissemination to the Club Members.
ALL trip leaders are requested to include this policy in their Safety Briefing prior to the trip.
Lets keep safe out there!
