I haved observed that some people like to keep their Radio in the car mounted somewhere on the visor or just beside them and leave the radio in the car when they go out.
I would recommend as a good practice that all drivers keep the radio with them as much as possible either on a belt buckle or on a lanyard around the neck.
This will enable them anyone to communicate with you irrespective of distance (within radio coverage)

Agreed! but belt buckle is not good..in my very humble opinion...as the antena thing would be pointed across your stomach and if something happens like you hit the breaks too fast or a bit of a bump that might be painful if it hits you....belt but on the side I guess... ?
