I agree French design is only second to Italian and this seems to have a nice mix between the two. Would be very nice in bright red.... 8)

Yes that was a beautiful car. I also loved the Clio Williams, that was a pocket rocket if ever I saw one. and teh Renoult 5 GT turbo, another French legend.

Ha ha, they are all legends in the European hot hatch industry. I love all of them, you missed the Golf VR6 too, bloody lovely motor that was.

could have... i drove the Golf VR6 when i just had my driving licence (a friend of my parents let the car at our home for the week end... )

But i know so many stories of young guys killing themselves at this time... Especially with the Super 5, who had the turbo starting when you were using the engine break in curves... (small issue they rectified later). Basically, inexperienced drivers with very powerfull cars at time when police was not everywhere... not a good mix.

At this time i had an Austin Metro (engine : 999cm3!) so no risk for me.

:D I have been lucky to have owned most of the above, I had both the 1.6 & 1.9 Pug GTI, Golf GTI's Mk1,2 & 3 and my brother and I rebuild VR6 VW Corrado's and Various Audi 5cyl. I even owned a bright yellow LHD Integrale 16v very much like the one in the pic.

Some other's I have owned have been 3 Cosworths (1x3 door and 2x Sapphire), and the big daddy of them all....Audi Ur Quattro I have had both the 10v WR and the 20v RR.

You could say i was a little bit of a petrol head a few years ago.......

Below is a pic of my old WR Ur Quattro.......

i had a very bad experience with this car. it killed a family member 7 years ago and seriously injured a friend a couple of years back. both with a similar problem. car engine switched off while driving through a curve in a mountain area causing the car to free fall 200M, as for my friend she hit the highway barrier doing 150KM also because the engine just switched off!!!!!

just thought i would share the story
