Land Rover Defender - The truth and only the truth

Post by WildFire »

I've been to Premier Motors this morning and I went down stares to see the Defender.

I saw the Double cab Pick Up and I like its shape :D

they told me that the production of the V8 was stopped and now It has a five cylinder 2.5 turbo diesel engine (they call it TD5)

As per their web site it generates 300Nm at 1950 rpm but, they didnt mention that it has 122 HP only .

One more thing , it Weighs 3500 KG ( very very very Heavy )

I dont know about its performance ( off road ) so , any idea LRs lovers :!:
Is it as tuff as they claim ( can take the beating & abuse ) :?:
Does it worth the 115000Dhs they are asking for :?:

If we compare its capabilities (off roading ) with the TLC & Nissan Patrol where would you place it :?:
Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down.

The TD5 is quite popular in Germany ( if you drive an LR )

Are you sure the weight is 3,5 Tons ?????? I believe the max you can tow is 3,5tons. The weight will be around 2 tons max.

The 3,5 tons is the max. total weight with passengers and so on.

The empty weight is between 1873 kg to 2173 ( depends on which one you have 90, 110, 130 crewcab)
