Museum Area Stuck Fest

Post by jc »

Well here goes we all meet at ADNOC Mussafah at 2pm fueled both car and body ready to go left ADNOC at 2:20pm to travel to Deflation point at Car museum now for the first funny of the day I was a liitle bit excited as this was my first trip as Leader and OOOOPPPPPSSSSS missed the turn off to the museum  sorry guys. Eventually made the correct uturn as we made our merry way to Museum deflation point.

Had our briefing at the deflation point and proceeded to our first lesson of the day thanks to AGGAHZAL for providing a really good stuck. We spent about an hour instructing on different types of recoveries Viking finally got to use his new snatch strap well done eric.
After a short but challenging drive through small dunes and crossing a sabkah we started the route in earnest some parts proving to be a little challenging but more challenging was the soft sand. We made our way out of the dunes and joined XOF, Iguana at the camp site for a coffee and BBQ.

HALWA, ANTRAX thank you for all your support today, ANTRAX hope the Blue Dolphin will be with you forever :D :D
Prada great job today second lead is not easy well done
Mark welcome to desert driving AD4x4 style sorry for your bumper and thanks for the tow
Lars hope you enjoyed your first trip with us and will join us for many more
Eric you are a star my friend the more you drive the better you get and now you can also use your strap
My 2 amigos Jax & Ghazal what can I say LEGENDS you are the best
Elodie you handle your jeep very well now you know what it feels like to recover a vehicle
Phillipe you looked very comfortable in your Orange jeep would like to see you more in the desert
The best for last RACHA I thought you were awesome today driving that big cow Durango not one stuck and some of the route was quite challenging for your car well done

My first trip is done and now I know what the dark side is really like and I like it
Cheers everybody hope you had fun

What a great (& interesting!  ) first trip jc - well done, my friend!

Always great to meet new members and today was no exception - so a big 'HI' to Lars, xof and especially Mark and Kath!

I've also seen bits of Mussafah I didn't know existed and quite honestly am wondering why they exist - never laughed so hard in ages driving around the Twilight Zone of AD

Looking forward to the next one, jc!

JC - You are my hero. That was a great trip and as you mention I finally got to use my recovery strap. I hate buying things and then not use them so this was perfect and I actually used it twice

I also want to say a big thanks to the rest of you that took part. I really enjoy the company of each and one of you. I am still amazed that I always meet new people in the club and they are all very nice and happy. This must be the best club ever 8)

Ghazal - I am so glad to hear that your car (and you of course) was OK as it looked pretty bad at first sight.

Megamoe - That was a challenging Newbie-route you took us on heading back to the main road
I actually managed to hit the only tree that was in that desert trying to get up that dune the same way as you did so now I have a new bump/scratch on my left door  I guess it is just to get used to that. If you are going to have fun - sometimes it is painful

Looking forward to the next trip and I will sign up as soon as I get my car back from Nissan Service (if I get it back)

Have fun

By the way - JC mentioning that we crossed a "Sabkah" and I assume that is something like an old seabed or an area that has been flooded and then dried out. Is that correct?

I remember we had a crusty surface 8O
