Newbie Spring Drive Khazna (Convoy 1)

We had a total of three convoys on Saturday at Khazana. Convoy 1 was lead by myself with support of Marshal Kamran and Marshal Suleman Convoy 2 by Marshal Roy and Convoy 3 by Marshal FidoDido.

This report is for Convoy 1.

Almost all members arrived on time. Marshal Kamran had kindly agreed to support my newbie drive. Also Marshal Suleman joined our convoy and had been watching us from outside of the convoy and guiding the drivers where required. It was a great pleasure to have him and Marshal Kamran around us:

After our detailed briefing we stared towards on the Khazana gatch on the side of the farm and then turned right towards North East side and started crossing into medium sized dunes for initial warm up. We then gradually zigzagged into the bigger dunes starting with some steep descents, where all the drivers performed well. We were able to practice a lot of descents on our track which helped all the drivers learn to have full control over their cars. There were multiple stucks as well on few descents, which were easily recovered by the support team and sweeper.

At some of the places the track was really bumpy in Khazna so had to change the route often to avoid bumps.

At around 4.45pm after our last break, we decided to head back to the deflation point in order to end the trip before sunset. On the way back we found few more challenges in the form of straight crests and some uphill climbs. All the drivers did well in these challenges and enjoyed the overall trip.

While driving back we also met the third convoy of Newbies, headed by Marshal Fido Dido.

We reached the deflation point just around 6pm before sunset. Some members went back to their home from there, while others headed back to the BBQ point.
