Dunescape Journey - AUH Intermediate Al Khatim Saturday PM

1. Shaanib - Lead
2. Toni - Second Lead
3. Baha - Sweeper
Objective: The primary objective of the trip was to advance through medium dunes, familiarizing participants with side sloping techniques and exploring terrain towards east.
Participants Revoking: Only three managed to join the trip due to the numerous cancellations that happened before the scheduled time.
Safety Briefing: The expedition commenced at 3 PM with a comprehensive safety briefing outlining the fundamentals of side sloping, emphasizing precautions due to soft sands and hidden rocks within the medium dunes.
Skill-building Activities: The initial part of the drive involved warming up with smaller dunes. We practiced side sloping, ensuring everyone in the convoy felt comfortable with the maneuver. Since it was a small convoy we continuously engaged in side-sloping from one dune to another, particularly focusing on maintaining good momentum in medium dunes.
Break: After approximately 90 minutes we took a break for refreshments, during which the group discussed maintaining proper momentum to avoid the need for second tries.
Exploration: After the break, the convoy engaged in more side sloping activities and exploring new areas. Ample time was dedicated to practicing side sloping and maneuvering between different dunes, fostering a hands-on learning environment for all participants.
Conclusion: The expedition concluded successfully around 5:30 PM, with all participants safely exiting at the initial meeting point. The collective efforts, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols ensured a smooth and fulfilling advanced drive experience for everyone involved.
