The decision to exploit the lesser travelled parts of the Bu tais region was a great success providing much enjoyment and the necessary fun to improve skills.

The drive started at 2:45 when the small band of brave explorers met under the hot sun of the central Bu tais dunes. A short technical section that served as a warm up led us to the large and impressive star dunes of the area. From here a series of large climbs and the traversing of sharp crests quickly sharpened our focus and set the stage for the drive ahead. Once a level suitable for the heat and skill development was established we rode and crested all interesting dunes we could find, stopping every now and then to refresh ourselves and allow re-attempts of the more challenging dune faces.

Everyone did well in the soft sand conditions of the afternoon, with sensible 2nd and 3rd tries showing a safety first approach.

Suryaveer, you showed good improvement through your safety conscious but willing attitude to fun yourself. And of course a huge thanks to marshal Borja for his efforts in keeping the convoy in order.

It should be noted that the day didn't end with the trip. All AD4x4 trips arranged in Bu tais gathered for an evening get together where those who stayed were treated to a diverse selection of treats from around the world. A wonderful evening spent with great people. An event definitely to be repeated more often.

This was a great trip in a really lovely area! Thanks for your patience and guidance, some of the dunes were definitely challenging for me but always helps to follow and learn! Appreciate the support from Borja and Dan, look forward to the next one!
