Report - Al Faqa to the Heart
Posted: Fri Jan 25, 2019 7:16 pm
We all met on time in a lovely and coldish morning in Al Faqa. It was a great start.
Lead Marshal, Georges
Second lead, Mr Georges (with a name like this nothing can go wrong... )
Marshal support and sweeper, Emdoc and his co-pilot Herant
Great intermediates:
Billet
Ishampn
Leoffmj1
Tsmiles
Valkyrie
We headed to the deflation point, did what is needed and went through the safety brief. We headed north trying to reach the Heart shaped lakes in Al Qudra. It all started easy with the initial big dunes and quickly we entered the much much more technical area. Had our usual second tries and recoveries but we moved at a very good pace making it to the lakes by 12 noon.
It was one of the most technical trips with small repetitive dunes where one had to be focused 100% at all times. Seems easy but not really as there was no time to really take a break.
Thank you all for participating and making it a great morning with a positive spirit all along. Thank you for those who participated to the recoveries and lent some equipments to make these easier.
Thanks Mr Georges (this is not me but the other Mr Georges ) for a solid second lead, diverting the convoy when needed and assisting in the recoveries.
Thank you Emdoc and Herant (co-pilot) for looking after the convoy at the back and helping in the recoveries and guiding members.
It was a great morning for me despite being very technical and had the satisfaction of taking a route I never took before and arriving at the Qudra lakes Hearts to which it was my first visit.
Please share your pictures on the club FB and hope to see you soon in the sand.
