Khatim Twin Trip 2-12-2007

Post by DiVeR »

WoW, what a nice day today 8) 8)

13 cars showed up in Abu Dhabi, 3 in ADNOC Al Khatim & 1 in the def. point (total 17 cars). The trip was split into 2 groups who gathered again for lunch @ 4:30:

1st group went for Intermediate drive:

DiVeR - Marshal
MAC - Marshal
K-Mag - Marshal
T-Mag
Ahmed
PPNath
OffRoad
Uristier
Banna
Yehia

2nd group went for Advanced drive:

Batal - Marshal
Khaiwi - Marshal
Miro
H3
Abdalla
G-Man
XJ

As for the 1st group, our trip was challenging for the intermediate drivers with nice scenery. The area was new and the beautiful thing as Khaiwi said that this area can go all the way from Newbies to advanced. Beautiful big dunes  .

We covered 26 kms both ways, we had few stucks, but in general it was great. I hope everybody enjoyed.

Thanks MAC & K-Mag for sweeping & assisting / Batal for offering to lead the advanced drive & thanks to everyone for coming today, the gathering @ lunch was fun 8) .

Waiting for the PICS and the 2nd group report :P :P

Thanks Diver for organising such a great trip and special thanks for Batal for leading side sloping hehehehe, it's been a while I havn't followed someone in advanced trip, so I enjoyed it as a "tourist" with my guest/passenger (Tutan) who is I guess anxious to practice a lot to qualify for such kinda trips.

Very nice company and moderately challenging route (I allways compare it to LIWA being the real thing), a relaxing short gathering at the end with both teams for a quick snack and a chat.

Look forward to future trips with all.
Did 650 Off Road trips so far (26- Jun-2022) and counting
Proud to be AD4x4 Marshal.......

If you haven't been to LIWA, you haven't seen the desert yet......Dare you follow me? !!!!

And if you haven't seen Jeeping in Moab, you don't know what you're missing.

Never settle for less....

Oh DiVeR
Alf sukran for organising this trip to the (new) Al Khatim area and for the great lead of our group. :thankyou:
I very much enjoyed the driving, the scenery and of course the unbeatable company. This is by far the best way to celebrate the birthday (UAE National Day). :bravo: :bravo:

Now I’m veeeery relaxed doing nothing. :shisha:

I did indeed have a great day today, I was given a wonderful opportunity to experience and observe some great driving skills.

It is an eye opening experience to see what can be done in the desert, thank you for giving me the opportunity to be your passenger Khaiwi, it was like a long roller coaster ride.

I think it will be a while before i get to a stage where i can follow the marshalls at todays standards :? But i will enjoy the practicing.........

I have some photo's, will upload soon
