Al Qoa - 24-25 Jan - Report

It was indeed a nice and true offroad trip. We met at Al Faya petrol station and we started our offroad trip in Al Razeen road at the gate used for Desnav 2012. We headed SE through very technical dunes until we reached the gatch road heading to al Khazna. At this point Cherif took the lead and we went inside the Al Qoa area. Around 530 pm we found a very nice camping spot along our way. We set up our tents and we started our fire (a very big one). In the morning we headed towards the high dunes in Al Qoa and Audrey and Malte led the convoy (very good and impressive drive skills). Around 2 pm we were inflating our tyres near the camel track and then we came back home after refuelling

Great group and nice to see you all. Was a great time..
Was 123km from deflation to inflation..nice dunes, audrey and malte nice leads today well done

We had many people, nice to see and drive with you all, each and everyone of you

Looking forward to a return trip

Thanks Guevara, Cherif, and all the group. It was nice to drive with some old favorites and some new faces. I really enjoyed the area. Malte's track in the morning was a great wake up. See you all next time!

Thanks to Guevera and Cherif for organising a fantastic 2 days of Fun, great leads, awesome company and as we say in kiwi language just a 'choice' trip all round thanks to great people.
Malte and Audrey great part leads, really enjoyed your tracks, sleepiness wore off very quickly this morning!

Another awesome trip, absolutely loved every minutes of it, especially the BBQ time. Nice catching up with people I had not seen in ages! Awesome tracks, perfect level of difficulty, it was a lot of fun. Took tons of pictures and movie clips, beautiful scenery with lots of camels, but no gazelles! SO we will have to go back for those! I wonder if the helicopter crew took pictures of us during the recovery, and if they will be posted somewhere! Special thanks to Zeer for coming with me all the way to AL Khatim as back up, was able to make it to the station, when I filled up the tank I put 83 liters of gaz in it ( 85 liters capacity!!), so it means I had less than 2 liters left by the time I reached the station! hahahahaha

Sounds a fun trip.

I am interested in doing the trip in reverse too - entering into Al Q and heading back.

The dunes in that area are so amazing, and I love the fact that you hardly meet anyone else. Its your own private sandpit to play in.

Thanks Guevera and Cherif for the amazing trip real had alot of fun,relax and fun times MalteJK and Ritter was nice to follow you in your leading parts,well done.
BBQ and camping was great, fun time and alot of jokes i was lovely night,Thanks to all for the great time.
