On a very cold morning we ventured out into the dunes of Sweihan on a joint lead trip with some keen offroaders.

Compared with weeks before with fog and rain, today was down to 6c as we met at the petrol station in sweihan. Two messages the night before advise of some minor technical issues so we were sorry that we missed you DesertDawg and Alkhateeb, hope all is fixed soon. One call from a member to advise of delay and minutes later we moved to the deflation point.

We headed to gate 15 where we deflated and did a briefing for the trip. Although all were particularly cold, smiles were always there as we moved off into the dunes. We started with some nice easy dunes, crests and technical areas to get the warmth into the drivers and then proceeded to the higher dunes of Sweihan.

The track had a mix of something for all and we had to make some stops to chat and relax as no one was willing to offer the chance of a recovery.

From here we headed to the Ghaf tree for some (late) breakfast and a chat. the company was great and lots of great chat and jokes confirmed everyone was warmed up and ready for some more.

We headed to the big dune for a short while and then with time moving one we took a smoother but slightly quicker route back to the catch in time for Juma Prayer. Some left direct to Sweihan and some inflated at the gate.
Desert_Hawk - thank you for the share of the trip and hope you got some good shots when able, we look forward to them
Grizzly - thank you for the great second lead, it was great to have you and keeping very good communication throughout, great job
Desert Storm - very good driving from start to finish, you took the dunes in your stride, keep it going
Ihab - glad to have you on the trip and for the assistance, you seemed to enjoy the dunes and some great driving throughout
Marco - great to see you out and you did very well and glad you enjoyed, there is plenty more to come i can be sure
Berho Desert - well done throughout, some very good driving and the big cat constantly purrs up to the ridges, nice one
Abu Ghazi - thank you for a great sweep, excellent communication throughout and great to know you were in control of all. really great driving and you and the pathy grow with every trip
Colonel - glad to have you on the trip, very good driving and you took the next step with great efficiency and safe handling of the dunes, mabrook.
Caesar - thank you for the assistance and some great chats, pleasure to have you with us today for sure, hope you warmed up a bit.
Nautibean - thankyou for coming along as official photographer and hope you had a enjoyed drive (chauffeur driven in style) look forward to seeing the photographs

Thank you for a great trip, smiles and company are a pleasure and hope to you all in the sand soon (and with some warmer weather)

This was definitely worth waking up at 6am on one of the coldest 130km drive from Dubai Ive had.
Some say doors would help, but cold is better than boring... "though we had to stop at one point and use the exhaust pipe to worm our hands
Andy, that was a very smooth yet interesting route, so thx for the nice lead, the tips and the patience
Desert Hawk, appreciate that you waited for me, and as usual thx for the pics & video " :ps3: "and for your sense of Humor
Ceasar, As always, thx for the 4x4 reminder and for the tips
Grizly, Nice to meet you and thx for being responsive on the radio
Desert storm, thx for the snatch
Nautibean, thx for the coffee

This was a great first intermediate trip and look forward to taking the game one step further.

thankyou...

Thanks a lot Desert Hawk & Scotchyl for great organization of the trip, we had so much fun surfing the dunes in a very suitable track for the level.
All the participants did well following the track of a wrangler although most of them were LWB vehicles.
This trip was very unique since there were more LWB vehicles than the SWB ones, which is not very common at all.
Last but not least, well done Andy for the great first lead it was amazing & well selected.
Great second lead from Grizzly.
Well done to all the participants it was nice to meet some of you for the first time & happy to see the rest of you again after long time.
Thanks to our marshals Desert Hawk & Caesar for their support & guidance during the trip :ty:
Until next time, please be well & take care.
Salam
