Saturday Morning trip report

Post by Mac »

Another great day with AD4x4 family, 12 cars met at 6am and we headed off to Khatim Firing ranges in thick fog. We had a brand new member with us today, Overdose, in his new Suzuki Vitara so I picked an easy route.
The fog lifted and we had wonderful but very hot weather. A few stucks, well handled by DiVeR, JC and Lars, thank you all for this.
A stop for coffee and snacks then a further stop for PLAYTIME. DiVeR & Lars had fun towards the end with a technical stuck but we all emerged safely at Khatim North, off to ADNOC to inflate then JC, Omar & me had to go to Musaffah to leave my Cherokee, running very rough and no power steering, JC, brake line problems due to a broken brake pipe, well patched up in the desert and Omar who was just having his Jeep checked over.
A big thanks to our new Intermediate Nessie for guiding Overdose behind me, Bellabos........ BAHA for keeping an eye on our new member Overdose, and DiVeR for sweeping and JC,Lars for recoveries.
Hope to see you all soon ISA.

Thanks for lift home JC/Joy/Alex.

Off to Al Ain now, very tired.

A big thank you for yet another wonderful day in the dunes. Great company, new faces and more experience in the soft sands of summer.

Thank you to all the marshals and members of our happy family for your help, guidance and support that has helped me achieve my new level…

Thanks MAC for the nice trip 8) Offroading in the fog was somehow new :P

Towards the end of the trip when i thought that its almost time to go home & have a calm sleep  , one of the heavy cars got stuck in very soft sand at the bottom of a long down-slide that we had to use a combination of 3 ropes to snatch it up for more than 6 times using Lars' car (thanks Lars for using your beast to do the job) 8) Still it was a relaxing trip for me, in & out before the day starts :P :P

Thanks everyone 8)

Lars Liberty does not count as jeep and I will be interested in winter when you drive on the wet blacktop you might be the being pulled from your car if you keep those rubber ice skate tires on
