We all met roughly on time and after congratulating our new intermediate TomMatthew on his upgrade we held the safety briefing and set convoy order with Jules as second lead, followed by Tom, Sunil and Carsten and Frankie as sweeper. Matt provided our rearguard and Andy watched over us from the side.

We started in the wide dunes on the south of the farms and warmed up practising side sloping and medium climbs and descents, we then changed pace and style as we moved towards Nagra first in the small and then larger technical dunes. We had a break at the trees and then moved on to the red sand behind Nagra to play some more in the wider dunes. On our way back Matt took over the lead and gave us a great drive to our inflation point, where we had the chance to debriefand chat before heading homeward.

Thanks to the intermediates for making the trip possible, you drove well through the different sections practicing using momentum to carry you through maneuvers and knowing when to turn down as needed. Thanks for a very good second lead by Jules adjusting the track when required and communicating well, and to Frankie for his sweep activity. Thanks for the support and a well charted return leg track Matt, and as always thanks Andy for your assistance and good advice throughout. Given the rising temperatures, only having a few second tries and one demonstration stuck made the morning smooth, safe and fun. A marvellous way to start the weekend.

Thanks Michael for the great trip and the opportunity to 2nd lead. I enjoyed it thoroughly to be out there with everyone in a virtually empty desert. Nice pace as well especially when Matt took the lead; great to be your 2nd lead Matt. Thanks also Andy for your views and advice.

Now I’ll need to wait for 4 weeks for my next drive due to holidays so this was a very nice ‘close out’!

Thanks EmDoc and Matt for leading two great parts to the trip, everyone did well and handled the terrain with good progression. It was a fun day whilst the heat grew so did the confidence but always knowing how to control themselves.

Absolute pleasure supporting but everyone did so well it was a relaxing drive

Probably last trip in the jeep as I switch to the big blue oval and join the truckers.
