First of all, I’d like to thank the below Expert/Advance members for signing up for the Advanced drive that was announced, moreover I’d like to thank them for volunteering to support the Newbie Convoys which unexpectedly reached 30+ cars and had to be split into 3 convoys.

As most of the participants of the Advance Drive joined the Newbie convoys for support, Intermediate convoy was also split into two convoys, Intermediate members with 6+ intermediate trips joined me. As all are experienced drivers, trip level was set as Advanced101.
We had our safety briefing and I introduced the side cresting technique, how it’s done, what to do and what to avoid. With everyone excited to tryout the new technique, all jumped into our cars and headed towards the sand with the following convoy order:

**Petro
***DesertDriver (Official Sweeper)
****Escape (Side Sweeper)
******Khaiwi (Support Marshal)

We hit the sand around 3 pm going through the technical area of Al Faqa East as warming up, with everyone handling their vehicles very well and confident in their skills, we increased the pace heading towards higher dunes. We played around the Sony Ericson area then the Super Bowl reaching to our destination the Iftar Bowl. All drivers did very well.

It was a great trip. I really like the point to point drives. Lots of small technical dunes followed by some bigger ones at the end. Everyone drove very well.
