All groups arrived together to the Al Faya deflation point, around 50 cars had decided to beat the heat. After safety briefing at around 4 PM, we headed off towards the Khatim BBQ point. Marshall George was second lead and marshall Ahmed was sweeping in the back. We started out on a somewhat tricky technical track and soon decided to bypass the initial area to get to the smoother dunes. Once there we practiced basic introductory dune driving and all drivers did really well, only few second tries and stucks so we made steady progress through the desert. We had a couple of breaks on the way and also had to stop the convoy few times due to desert tour operators deciding to cross our path. We reached the BBQ point around 7PM just in time to see the sun set. Thanks all drivers, well done and see again you soon in the dunes. Thank you marshalls for the support and the opportunity to lead an ANIT, challenging but fun!
