Trip Report - Beat the heat DXB 29 June AM
Posted: Sat Jun 30, 2018 9:14 am
All met on time at the petrol station in AL Faqa. Headed to the deflation point and ran through the safety measures. The weather was great with nice temperatures and no winds.
Second lead was Corbie
Sweeper was JeanPhi
Thank you guys for your assistance.
We started heading north in the larger dunes of Al Faqa and we got our usual second tries and stucks including the lead We were able to practice recoveries using ropes and winches. We were able to practice in big dunes as well as the small technical ones with breaks when needed by driving on sabkhas. We had a chit chat fruit stop at around 10 am and exited at 12 noon after doing 42km. High end of a newbie trip.
All drivers did really well. Good communication from Corbie as my second lead and following instructions when challenges were faced. JeanPhi as a sweeper was put to contribution for some of the recoveries with the first one being while going to the deflation point.
Marksorial, you did really well considering this was your first trip after the ANIT. Just go more out with the club and you will master your car.
Reddemon good and safe driving. Maybe you want to put a killer switch
Francis you have a good control of your car and as experienced, keep your distance from the car ahead on the road or off the road.
Thank you all for joining my trip which I enjoyed greatly after a long time out of the desert.
Thank you to Corbie and JeanPhi for your support and the the others who helped in the recoveries. The the ones who were heading after to the Sweihan trip I hope you guys enjoyed the ride too.
Corbie please share some of the pictures you took. Thanks.
Till next time have a great week and play safe in the dunes.
