Tyre Reccommedations

Post by Miner »

As above.... looking for AT maybe instead of HT for replacement in the future.

Looking forward to when I’m replacing the Bridgestone Dueller 840 HT on my Pajero (3.8 SWB).... nothing too gnarly as will still be doing mostly road miles.... but maybe an AT tyre this time instead. Fitment is 265x60x18 which narrows it down a bit, however I’ve seen decent options from BF Goodrich and Cooper.

Any recommendations? Preference would be to stick to original rims/size for now.

They are all good and gives good feeling while driving however for me, the best of the tires Vs $$$ is the:

Yokohama Geolander AT

(very quite on road as well ;) )

I also got these and I also heard these are the most quiet on the road but I cannot compare myself. I know it’s a different size but for your reference: mine (285x75x16) are about Dhs 700-750 per piece depending on any offers.

I have Coopers on my wife's Pajero and Yokohamas on the Jeep, both are great off road but if tyre roar is important to you then Yokohamas are significantly quieter on road.

I have Kumho tires in 285/70/17 on the FJ and BG Goodrich KO2 on the Landcruiser in the same size.

Kumho, thin side wall but quite on road, good in sand, but easy to puncture if not careful.
BF Goodrich, not as good in sand since thick side wall, but can go anyway and virtually indestructible. Pretty quiet as well.

Good stuff, cheers... so far between the Cooper AT3 and BFG KO2. Heard the Coopers look nice but are noisy?

Geolander AT looks ok too.
