fuel cap and horn fuse

Post by surfer »

For the last two days i can not fill up my jeep with gas, the fuel cap just keeping turning as if it locked even when its not locked. I order a new cap without a lock, but now i can not get the old one to open, any ideas ?

Another thing, i changed my car horn and after few days, the horn's fuse blow up and i had to change it to get working again, anyone can guide here too ?

For the gas cap, try one of those key cutting shops, they will open it for you.

The horn is possibly drawing more current than what the existing setup can handle, so an electrician can make a relay to feed power to the horn directly from the battery with proper wire thickness and matching fuse.

You know iguana, i come here for advice because i know we have professionals here.

Thanks chief for the advice, fearuae's brother played with it and had it opened :D i filled up the car and drove it home without the cap, the new one is arriving tomorrow hopefully, i installed the fuel door and closed it, i'll keep it parked till i get the cap.

I changed the horn's fuse, i will wait for it, if it burn again i'll pay the electrician a visit.

Surfer, Have you managed to open the cap yet?

My jeep gives me the same problem every now and then (its a jeep thing). Apply pressure on the cap and then turn. All jeep fuel caps seem to open this way, locked or unlocked.

Let me know what horn you bought, I'm currently looking for a proper horm for mine, the standard, gay horn just doesn't work on SZR.

I managed to open it, through it away and im using the one without a key now, i have the fuel door with lock fitted on top of the cap.
Man, the old horn sounds like the car is having cold, just through it away, they are selling 100 dhs horns much better than the stock one.
